Swiss Organic Fabrics - thinking global, acting local

Swiss Organic Fabrics stands for highest Swiss quality, the supply chain has exclusively been arranged with local partners. The fibers used are produced under organic agricultural standards, the production of the woven fabrics is done according to strict ecological criteria on all levels. Using genetically modified seeds, chemical fertilizers and pesticides for pest elimination is forbidden.

The subsequent production has to meet strict criteria on all levels:

  • Oekotex Standard 1000 (factory)
  • Voluntary CO2reduction
  • All factories are certified according to GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) in order to guarantee a uniform standard in the subsequent manufacturing of the textiles.
  • Swiss Organic Fabrics are produced within Switzerland only. All companies involved are within a small reach of maximum 70 kilometres, which helps further to improve the carbon footprint since production distances could be substantially reduced.
  • Due to the Swiss production the social standards can be guaranteed.
  • The yarns consist of minimum 95% exclusive extra-long staple organic cotton fibers. Only a blend with maximum 5% synthetic fibers (e.g. Elasthan) is allowed.
  • The interweaving of the Swiss Organic Yarns to Swiss Organic Fabrics is done in weaving mills under strict GOTS criteria.
  • Only controlled chemical additives are utilized in the finishing process. The functional high-grade finishing is environmental friendly.
  • Additional certification ISO 14001 and Oeko-Tex 1000 Plus.
