SwissCotton Rainbow® is a pretreated, high-grade
cotton yarn, which dyes much deeper than regular,
untreated cotton. Various levels of color depths can be achieved by using a combination of Rainbow yarns with different intensities of the Rainbow-treatment. Thanks to the different dyeing properties, patterns woven or knitted into the raw article can be made visible in the desired color after piece-dyeing. The dyeing process can be controlled in a way that a pattern appears «color on white» or «tone on tone» (different color depths). Marled and heather-yarns are further applications very suitable for the Rainbow technology.
By dyeing an item in garment form, the lead-time for multi-color articles is reduced drastically. Since fast selling colors can be produced very quickly, inventory risks in the entire production chain are reduced substantially. Units in highly fashionable or seasonal colors can be manufactured in small lots without unreasonable efforts.
